3Ways To Educate Your Employees With NHADA ANYONE WHO STOPS LEARNING IS OLD, WHETHER AT 20 OR 80. — Henry Ford Ensure that your employees continue to refine their skills. NHADA provides numerous options: 1. Send your employees to Seminars and Work- shops at NHADA headquarters. Upcoming sessions include: NH Title Regulations, Hazardous Materials three-year certification, Management and Leadership, State and Federal Wage-and- Hour Rules and Regulations, and Working with and Understanding Employees with Mental Health Diagnoses. More topics are being scheduled as of the printing deadline and will continue to be added. Go to www.nhada.com/events to view scheduled seminars. 2. Participate in NHADA’s Workforce Education Reim- bursement Program through our Job Training grant. We have recently been awarded a new grant for courses beginning on or after October 1, 2019. Your company pays for the student to attend an auto, diesel, motorcycle or powersports technology or collision repair course through one of NH’s five Community Colleges (White Mountains CC, Lakes Region CC, Manchester CC, Nashua CC or Great Bay CC) offering these programs, and your com- pany will be reimbursed for half the tuition. In addition, courses by the community colleges to prepare employees to take the NH State Inspec- tion test and be certified are included. We will also include one associate degree course per student per semester, as long as the student meets the employee criteria listed below. The employer must be an NHADA member, and pay all the fees (not the employee) to be eligible. This is a great opportunity to find and nurture a future tech who is already working for you. This grant is an important cog in the workforce development wheel, and we highly encourage you to participate. Check out classes on the commu- nity college websites and watch for additional information from NHADA. Contact Jean Conlon at jconlon@nhada.com for additional information. 3. Participate in NHADA’s Online Learning Manage- ment System. OSHA requires that certain train- ings be provided by employers to new hires prior to their entering the work environment. These include trainings on Hazard Communication, Fire Extinguishers, Emergency Evacuation, Bloodborne Pathogen Awareness, Automotive Lift Safety, Respirator Use and Personal Protective Equip- ment. NHADA’s online training program meets the requirements for these. Additionally, these train- ings have been bundled into different categories by job description. There are new hire trainings for technicians, parts employees, recon employees, and more. By taking this approach we keep the costs down — $10 per — for you and the member. For example, Instead of taking, let’s say, five differ- ent trainings to meet requirements, our new hire training for technicians has all five in one. If you and your company have yet to set up an online train- ing account, please contact a member of the Loss Preven- tion department. Setup is easy and only takes a couple of minutes. Even if you are a smaller employer that only hires one or two employees a year, this online training portal can be of value. The Loss Prevention department is willing to set up your account and add your new employee(s) as well as assign them the necessary courses. We plan to add additional non-safety courses to the portal such as Reasonable Suspicion training and possibly an EPA-approved 609 Freon certification. We are also able to customize a member’s account and add trainings that they currently use in-house. This online training is a significant value to you, our mem- bers. Call a member of the Loss Prevention department to schedule a visit at 800-852-3372 or email Brian Duplessis at bduplessis@nhada.com.
