NHADA’s 2019 Chairman: Shawn Hanlon I ’m honored to take the reins of the NHADA this year and I want to thank past Chairman Miles Cook for handing over an organization that is in strong shape. My goals and objectives are the same as any other chairman: to help keep NHADA successful. NHADA is a big family and provides a greater voice to all businesses – independents and franchised. Together we have a massive impact on NH’s economy and workforce. I’ve been running an independent dealership, AutoNorth Pre-owned Superstore in Gorham for 10 years and now am the proud owner of Plymouth Ford in Plymouth. Prior to those businesses, I was the GM for Berlin City Dealerships for 14 years. I look forward to working hard to be the voice of all members. I’m looking forward to continuing the tradition of having effective and inclusive leaders of this association. The key to leading this group to is work together and not lead alone. At the top of my agenda are working with the invest- ment committee to finalize and implement their recom- mendations. We’ve had a successful year thus far with the passage of the favorable body shop legislation, but we’ll need to ensure the law gets signed by Governor Sununu and is then properly implemented so that neither the insur- ance companies nor the shops abuse their privileges. Continuing our work force development efforts are critical as well as the related fundraising. The Education founda- tion, led by Chairman Mark Tulley, is continuing its full court press to fill the pipeline from the high schools into the community colleges. Your support of the Big Raffle, 20 for 20 and the golf outing are critical to the financial well-be- ing of the foundation and the scholarships we are offering. In January, we’ll be meeting to lay out the strategic plan for the next three years. Part of that discussion will involve the analysis of what opportunities and threats are facing the Association. Finally, I want to thank all the board members who serve on this NHADA board and the other boards that are part of NHADA. Running this organization is a team effort and I couldn’t do it without the many other voices in the room.
