State Emissions Testing Contract Renewed, Gordon Darby Again Selected A fter a lengthy RFP bid and review process by the Department of Safety and Division of Motor Vehicles, the Executive Council approved Gordon Darby last month, by a 5-0 unanimous vote with no debate, as the selected vendor for the electronic emissions test- ing system program. Although NHADA was not part of the RFP review and selection process, members of our industry were and we thank them for their time and effort in selecting the right fit for NH inspection stations. NHADA did offer feedback on what we thought should be in the RFP through the legislative OBD II Advisory Council that we serve on and we are glad to see some of those suggestions in the final product. Gordon Darby has been a great partner with our industry and association thus far and we look forward to continuing that tried and trusted relationship. The new contract and program will be rolled out in phases. The first is a contract extension from June 30, 2019 to December 31, 2019. During this time new equip- ment will be rolled out, as will a per-test cost reduction to $3.28 which includes the backer cost. On January 1, 2020 a new five-year contract with the option of a two- year extension will begin. Some of the features in the new program include: • The per-test cost reduction to $3.28 (including the backer cost) will remain in effect • Lower consumables costs • VIN-specific vehicle safety recall data printed on every Vehicle Inspection Report (VIR) • A wireless OBD Smart Scan Tool at no cost that will speed up the inspection process by allow- ing for wireless inspections with less trips to the NHOST unit • A multicolored sticker-on-demand system using an integrated form that will streamline the inspection process • Enhanced tools on the website for stations to access information • Other add-on features such as a tablet-based option to conduct inspections DAN BENNETT VICE PRESIDENT OF GOVERNMENT RELATIONS Bronze Partner ProActive Leadership Group Business Coach, Rockefeller Habits, Leadership Development Why work with the ProActive Leadership Group? 1.
